Good morning. Good morning.
Good morning. It is September 21, 2023. Today is an exciting day.
It is my good friend Jerel's birthday. So I just got some cupcakes and stuff to celebrate, which will be fun. You and I'm off to the office.
It's amazing. Birthdays are such an interesting thing. It's so easy to feel.
I feel like as you grow older and grow up more, your birthdays begin, meaning less and less to everybody. But it's still a way to make someone feel special on their day. And I think our society is so caught up in I want to feel special that we lose sight of what can we do to make someone else feel special? What can we do to pay attention to what's going on in their world and support them? So, if you have anyone who has birthdays coming up, go do a little something extra.
What else can you do to make them feel special? And it doesn't have to be a lot. Write them a note about how much they mean to you. Share a story or an experience with them.
Just do something to make them feel like they're more than just a number to you. They're more than just an acquaintance. They mean something.
I think it's a powerful way to look at life when you can look at, how can I impact someone else's journey? How can I make someone else feel special on this journey through on this journey through life? So, I been thinking about birthdays a lot. Mine was like a week ago, so naturally, it comes up this time of year. But birthdays are a ton of fun, and they should be fun.
I think one of the things you've got to do is figure out what you want on your birthday, what would make it fun for you, because if you don't ask for it, you won't get it. 100% of the things you don't ask for, you don't get. And it is it is up to you to ask.
You've got to know what you want, which is much easier said than done. But that's the starting place. That is the starting place.
So, Jerel and I have been friends since we were so we first became friends. He became a client when I was a trainer at Sandler training. He was brand new to sales, just getting started.
Heck, I was brand new to sales and just getting started, too. But we built a relationship. We built a friendship.
I ended up introducing Jerel to his wife, Haley, and they ended up getting married. They've got two amazing twins now. He asked me to be in there.
Well, actually, me and Emily were both in their wedding, which was a ton of fun. And then we had so we were both in their wedding and after so then when I left Sandler and went out and started my own entrepreneurial adventure, Jerel and Robert were my first clients for my little coaching program that I put together, which was another one of my wonderful learning lessons. So they were my first clients there.
Both Robert and Jerel have been great friends throughout my I would I see Robert and Jerel as the longest two members of my tax strategy team. Back when we were first getting started. I didn't look at it like that, but now I do, because we've worked together through different companies, through different processes and systems.
I've paid them, they've paid me. Everything that goes around comes around. And so we've all been on this journey working towards success, and we're all working towards success with each other.
And in my opinion, that's what makes someone part of your tax strategy team. There's no paperwork, there's nothing formal. It's just, hey, we are all going in this direction, let's help each other when we can.
And it's a beautiful thing if you think about it, having teammates like that. So there's a BNI business networking International is a leads group that's all over the nation, and it's all about referral partnerships. I was a member when I was back at Sandler and went every Wednesday.
Great groups. It is 100% a tax strategy team. They're trying to get you all to learn each other's business and figure out how can we help each other's businesses grow, not through being clients, but through referrals, through introductions, through advice, coaching, consulting.
There's so many options. So I think there's a lot of examples of tax strategy teams out there. Any strategic partnership is a tax strategy team.
Anyone you work with on a consistent and regular basis to build your business is part of your team. If you couldn't do it without them, they're part of your team. Even if you could, but they choose to help you.
They're part of your team. It's really interesting way to look at life. I enjoy it thoroughly.
So bringing this full circle back to Jerel's birthday, he has been a part of my tax strategy team for ten plus years. I trust him so freaking much, and he is a good person, and that's what I look for when it comes to working with people. Am I working with good people that are looking out for others? They're doing the best they can with what they have, because those are the kind of people I want to be around.
Life is not about having everything figured out. It's about doing the best you can with what you have. And you know what? We can do really good with nothing anyone can because it's a choice.
It's a choice how you show up and how you do things. It's one of the things I think I wish more people would understand about life, is that your success depends on your belief in your success. That's it.
If you're doing the best you can with what you got more power to, you give yourself a nice long timeline and keep working towards your goals because that's what life's about. It's about working towards something. It's about making progress and growth, which is a lot of fun.
Man, I got to say, I feel like getting to the office that way was way faster than the other way. I think I'm going to have to get over and then turn do. We made it.
So on September 21, 2023, I'm about to go wish my good buddy Jerel happy birthday. And I hope you do something nice for someone today, too. Make them feel special, make them feel loved.
It's your choice. It is 100% your choice. And with that said, I'm going to go get to work.
I appreciate you guys all following along the journey. If I can ever help, I'm just a comment away. We'll see you soon.
Bye.
